Every good project has goals. Here are Markeroni's:

To have fun

Perhaps our most important directive! History is not all archives, dust and learning dates (though those are vital too). It is an exploration and a journey, and does not at all preclude having fun.

To celebrate historic landmarks and historical markers...

...and the people who place them.

To increase awareness...

... of the organizations which place historic markers, and to maybe send some volunteers/new members their way.

To help...

At least 10% of the profits Markeroni will be funnelled into helping the organisations whose lists we place here for snarfing.

To share ideas and stories.

Everyone has a slightly different idea of how things went down. We are here to chat about that, and to learn from one another. Aside from that it's just totally cool to hear about everyone's quest for the Elusive Marker Beast.

To promote history.

There is always something to learn, and talking about it is a very good way to do so.

To explore.

Unless an historic marker is in your front yard, to go and see one you will have to leave your vservers. Exploring is cool!

To remain friendly and polite!

Okay, so differences of opinion might arise. But they are only that: opinion. Let's be nice to one another, listen, and be friendly...and not take everything too seriously!
