What information about historical markers and landmarks to expect for Maryland, USA

  • State historical markers: Entered. Request missing ones individually.
  • National Register: Entered.
  • National Historic Sites: Entered.
  • Other landmarks: request individually, or if you have details on an entire list (grouping of more than ten markers that obviously belong together) submit a link via the county form.

More than 800 markers have been erected since 1932. While there is no comprehensive information online, two guide books exist, the most recent being the Charles S. Adams one. Whatever information about state historical markers is in the Adams book, has been input.

The Maryland Inventory is not included since it is a comprehensive inventory of all historical and archaeological resources, and as such is not vetted in quite the same way that National Register properties are.
