What information about historical markers and landmarks to expect for Quebec, Canada

White Raven has a degree in French and German. It has lain dormant since the mid-nineties. As such, our understanding of the way things work in Quebec is very limited.

One of our members pointed us at the searchable database above. It appears to contain sites which are designated in different ways based on who is doing the designation and how important it is. In the absence of further information, we have apologetically decided to simply split the lists up by type of designations, and restrict our search to "biens historiques". Presumably, some have plaques, and some do not. If you sign up from this province, please request a municipality or equivalent from which we can get started.

The designations of national historic significance sites are input, at least up until a year or so ago. If you find a new one, please request it individually. Sadly, the list online does not include counties, so please be sure to search based on the title more than its location.
